In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate
All praise to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. And salutations and greetings upon our Master Muhammad and upon his family and companions.
“The state of our souls is manifested on the limbs. Likewise, the outer is indicative of what is going on inside.
Excessiveness causes destruction. We should be excessive only in good works, good intentions, good words, and in religion. Don’t be excessive in your speech; learn to control your speech.
We have to be people who are comfortable with silence, even whilst sat with others. We have become ‘gap-fillers’, or as some call it ‘awkward silences’. But we need to be calm and at ease with sitting in silence. If the tongue is not still, and the limbs are not still, how can the heart be still?”
JazakAllah Khayr to a dear sister and friend, Akila, for sharing this. May Allah protect and preserve Ustadha Umm Ali, Akila, and their beautiful families.
Salaam. Very important point made here. There is too much nonsense talk around – especially in masjids etc where people want to be heard and known. Not enough silence. Stillness and silence are so precious.
