In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate

All praise to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. And salutations and greetings upon our Master Muhammad and upon his family and companions.

I intend to study and teach, take and give a reminder, take and give benefit, take and give advantage, to encourage the holding fast to the book of Allah and the way of his messenger, and calling to guidance and directing towards good hoping for the countenance of Allah and His pleasure, proximity and reward, transcendent is He.

May Allah protect and preserve him. Ameen.

May Allah grant us a good shahada. Allahumma Ameen.

This is the biggest effort. Jihad to learn and get close to Allah (Exalted is He). You are fighting your nafs to be close to Allah (Exalted is He).

You live in a country such as this (England) and you are wearing the hijab in the midst of all these bad habits. Alhamdulilah that you are still with deen!

The Shahada is the best certificate that you have in this dunya and in the akhirah. You will be a winner on the Day of Judgement because you have this award inside you.

A pious wali said: “If a sinner’s sins are so numerous, such that they fill the space between the earth and the sky, yet Allah allows us to see the shining light in his heart, it means he has shahada in his heart!”

A sinner has ninety-nine sheets full of sin, Allah (Exalted is He) will send him to the hellfire. When the angel takes him, there is a voice that will say you still have one sheet left with us. The person will say, “What is this sheet? What will it do?” Allah (Exalted is He) will put the sheet of “La ila ha il-Allah, Muhammad-ur-RasulAllah” in the scale. [salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa alihi wa sallam]

In a hadith of the Messenger salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa alihi wa sallam, he stated something to the meaning of: “At the time of the feet touching the scale, the 99 sheets will fly away. La ilaha illa Allah, however, weighs more than the skies and the earth!”

This happens for a person who only has the shahada. What about the one who prays?
What about the one who regularly attends gatherings? What about the one who gives life to the night (spending it in worship)?

Jannah should not be the sole worry of your heart; the worry of whether you will be with the Prophet (upon him be peace) and his daughter, Sayiddah Fatima Zahra (May Allah be pleased with her) should take higher priority in one’s heart. The Sahaba were prepared to forego jannah but not the companionship.

One day the Prophet (upon him be peace) went out and he took a long time to return. When he arrived, he found Thawban crying. He asked him about the reason for his crying. Thawban said, “I missed you, O Prophet of Allah”. The Prophet (upon him be peace) asked him if this was the only reason for his crying and Thawban replied, “No Prophet of Allah (upon him be peace), that’s not the only reason. You went away for just one day and I missed you, so I remembered Jannah (Paradise), where you will be in the highest level and I will be where I will be. I won’t be with you so I’ll miss you in the Jannah, and that is why I cried.” But the Prophet (upon him be peace) told him, “Thawban, don’t you know that every one of us will be assembled with those whom he loves!”

Everyone can live in this feeling easily.

If there’s a man who loves his wife a lot and he builds a beautiful palace for her, yet when she comes inside she asks for his forgiveness and says that she can’t live there, do you think this person will stay in this palace, or leave? The palace is about who’s inside it. This is why the Sahaba didn’t want Jannah if RasulAllah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa alihi wa sallam is not there. They understand that the reality of Jannah is RasulAllah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa alihi wa sallam. Due to this Sayyidina Thawban became ill as he knew that he was simple Sahabi; he knew that he was simple and this was from his humility. He thought that this dunya was better as he didn’t know whether he will be with RasulAllah (upon him be peace) or not. He didn’t know where Allah will put him so he got ill. When Muhammad (upon him be peace) noticed that he is very ill, he gave him beautiful glad-tidings. The Prophet (upon him be peace) told him, “Thawban, don’t you know that every one of us will
be assembled with those whom he loves!”

When Sayyidina Anas bin Malik heard this he said, “I love you, I love Abu Bakr, I love Umar, I love Uthman and I love Ali. I want to be with you all.”

The time you find this love, Allah (Exalted is He) will never take your right. You just need a few actions to be with Muhammad (upon him be peace) and the Mothers of the Believers (May Allah be pleased with them all). Each day and night we must do salawat. How dare we say that we love and we don’t remember him? This is fake love.

Normally ladies have make-up, perfume and a comb in their bags but the one who loves RasulAllah (upon him be peace) must have her awrad book and her misbaha in her bag. The greatest of gifts are either a suhba, khulasa, siwak or any Islamic gift so a good relationship with the deen is present in order to make Allah (Exalted is He) happy with you.

Most of the ladies drive cars. Abdullah bin Rawaha said, “Come with me to worship Allah
for one hour” to his friend. It’s not necessary that you go with your friend for sixty minutes but just for a few minutes tell your friend let’s do salawat or let’s read from this book. You’ll find yourself doing one thousand salawat between yourselves.

A question to the attendees: If you get fed up or tired or have little time what do you do?

You don’t need a teacher to go for a walk and do salawat or to read Riyad as-Saliheen
together. This is the best company that you can make. To have good suhba (company) is what Muhammad (upon him be peace) said. By practising and worshipping together, Allah will raise your states. When you have good company you will allow the ignorant to come to this good company. When they come because of this good company they will receive a portion of beauty (musk) from you. If you walk into a shop which has ‘itr (perfume) but you don’t try some on, you still leave with a scent. They will catch some scent from your company. This description is related to a Prophetic Tradition on the example of good and bad company.

Second half

I’m happy if just one person comes as I want Allah and you want Allah. Some Shuyukh have two or three students and there is a profound effect. A Prophet will come with one person in his hand, another with two and yet another with none at all! This is a result from Allah. We only make dawah to accept ridah from Allah (His pleasure).

Shaykh Sa’eed al Khawa, a great scholar from Syria had a lecture at King Saud University. A lot of notices were put around but the date was written incorrectly. On the actual date, only a few turned up.

You should say La hawla wa quwatta ila billah every day to remind yourself that you can’t do anything by virtue of yourself alone. If you get bored say, ‘I’m Abd-Allah (A servant of Allah). If Allah is with me, nobody can do anything, as I’m with Allah.’

This country gives us a good education and good jobs. Jazakum Allah – may Allah reward them. We should give them the best of what we have, which is Islam. They give us the best; we should give them the best.

There is a short way to change anyone and it’s through dua. It’s the shortest and best way. Let’s spend two minutes in sujood (prostration) and ask Allah, maybe in the night if you can. Say Allah he’s a nice guy/girl (Habib wasn’t talking about marriage here but inviting to Allah and the Muhammadan Way). This is the easiest path to the heavens (as-sama’). If you have any non-Muslim in your mind then try this every day. You will see this change in sha Allah. Allah (Exalted is He) can change a heart for hidayah (guidance) as mentioned in a Prophetic Tradition. Allah (Exalted is He) takes care of you and He loves you. Ask for hidayah (guidance) for someone else. He is the Most Merciful of the Merciful. If anyone asks Him, He will not decline. Allah is al-Kareem (the Most Generous) and He gives to the good and to the bad. If someone gives you a gift and you return a gift to that person, this is not generosity.

There is a difference between asking and dua. Asking is by the tongue. Allah (Exalted is He) says that He will answer your dua not your asking. Allah (Exalted is He) sees your heart not your tongue. If you are honest (Sadiq) Allah will accept from you. If I speak to Muhammad and he looks at Arshad this is not good adab. Allah will see your heart in another place. Put in your heart that Allah (Exalted is He) will answer your dua as He said it in the Qur’an. Maybe Allah (Exalted is He) will move something bad away from you because of your dua.

If you keep asking someone something like ‘please come round my house’, they’ll get
angry but Allah will not get angry as He is happy if you increase in asking Him. Allah (Exalted is He) sometimes says to the angels give what he is asking because I don’t want to hear his voice whereas for others Allah (Exalted is He) says I want to hear him again and again so withhold from giving yet.

The important thing is that your day doesn’t end without a dua. You should make dua
for your brother in need. In Somalia thousands are dying daily. They are our brothers. We never sleep hungry alhamdulilah. Our brothers in Somalia are hungry at times for three or four consecutive days. The least we can do is make dua for them. Whoever makes dua for the Ummah, Allah (Exalted is He) will grant hasanat for each person in the Ummah.

Those who lose time in this dunya will cry even if they are in Jannah.  We are the shortest Ummah. There is small time and taking out all the time we sleep, eat, and drink and the like only five years will be spent in dhikr if we reach the age of sixty/seventy.

In the right way you should take care of your money even if it is a pound. Happiness
comes from Allah (Exalted is He) not money. Waswasa tells you the opposite. All of the dunya is a mirage. If you pray, have good company and family you will have the best of times. Also if you have some patience because you don’t only need Jannah but you need Firdous.

You have x number of years in education and you have a paper which indicates that you have a degree. You go to Jannah forever. Why do you exert yourself for school and not Jannah? Think about what you want from Allah (Exalted is He). Jannah or RasulAllah (upon him be peace). Jannah is much more than this, dunya is nothing. You ask Allah for Jannah and then you want to sleep.  On a daily basis we make numerous mistakes but we have repentance! The ‘tawwabin’ (plural of tawwab) is the emphatic form of he who repents. A ta’ib repents from one mistake, yet a tawwab repents from many, due to his many mistakes.

Be at His door and cry!

If you make tawba from your heart Allah (Exalted is He) will help you in refraining from that sin. We will make mistakes and Allah (Exalted is He) will accept good. The heart is like a sponge, If you do good it’ll be white and if you do bad it’ll be black. Fairy is used for cleaning and prayer is the Fairy for our hearts. We can’t move the stain with just water so prayer will remove the stain.

If you don’t have a Shaykh then make salawat and you will find a Shaykh in sha Allah,
The Shaykh will come to you. If you don’t have salawat on a regular basis then don’t say that you love RasulAllah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa alihi wa sallam. It takes two minutes to send one hundred salawat so have one hundred as a minimum.

Yusaloon means sending salawat continuously in Arabic. Allah says I’m continuously praying on RasulAllah. Nobody in the world really makes salawat, only Allah (Exalted is He) does. When you send salawat, what do you say? Allahumma (O Allah) or Ya Rabbi (O my Lord) or Salallahu (may Allah send blessings) so who sends the salawat? Allah.

Allah loves RasulAllah. All this dunya can be for him, RasulAllah (upon him be peace). When you send salawat, Allah grants much hasanat.

When you send salawat you don’t need to know the gift because it will be a big gift in Jannah. You will feel it, The Ahle Sunnah love RasulAllah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa alihi wa sallam.

No Nabi will go to Jannah before Muhammad (upon him be peace) and no member will go
before the Ummah of Muhammad. Our Imam is RasulAllah and because he is our Imam no one can enter before us.

Allah gives us what we need. We should give Islam to all the people in England. One of us can change England. Next time, I want to see your friend, the one whom you made dua for after this lecture. At least read Qur’an for five minutes every day and read two rakah of Duha (mid-morning, optional) prayer. There is much baraka  after ishraq (after sunrise).

Switch the light off, think about dhikr and do dhikr for five minutes.

After the command in the Qur’an to make dhikr, the word that follows is katheeran (i.e.
make MUCH dhikr) as Allah loves us and dhikr will help us.

Do salawat wherever you are by your heart and by your mouth and your feeling will arrive to RasulAllah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa alihi wa sallam.

May Allah reward the one who assisted me with the wording and grant him companionship with RasulAllah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa alihi wa sallam. Allahumma Ameen.
