In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate

All praise to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. And salutations and greetings upon our Master Muhammad and upon his family and companions.

“A poem begins with a lump in the throat.” – Robert Frost

Treasures for the Seeker intends to share the creative utterances of dear ones with you all. We pray that they stir and realise within us Muhammadan reflection, Muhammadan love, and Muhammadan transformation.

Allahumma Amin. Allahumma Amin. Allahumma Amin.

Dear God,
let us know what love is.
Real love.
In its purest, highest, unadulterated form.

And protect us from false claims, and illusions and ugly, lowly things that come under the guise of something beautiful.

I beg of You. Knowing full well I’m undeserving..
let us know.. the truth of love, the reality of love, real love.

Dear God,
I pray You keep me whole,
But if it is written that I be broken.
I ask that You fill every crevice,
of every wound,
with love for You.

Dear God.
I miss Tarim.
I miss the stillness my heart felt..
this wounded, black and brittle thing, I was so sure no longer functioned, felt whole again.

I was in the presence of the lovers, the strivers and the seekers.

You allowed me to sit with those, that sat with those, that sat with those, that sat with Your beloved (salallahu alayhi wa sallam)!
And I’m sure something of his blessed light must have passed from face to face, because those people glowed..
with love, with light, with certainty of faith.

And I miss them.
God I miss them..
and the quiet in my mind,
and the joy in my soul,
and the contentment in my heart..

But, Ya Rab, I know.
I knew then as I know now, I was never deserving of that place, or those people.
But I asked then and I’ll ask now.. Ya Rab! Lead me to those that will lead me to You!

Attach my heart to those hearts that are attached to You! Direct me to those that are directed toward You!

And perhaps through Your love of them and my love of them, You’ll love me too.
